Great turnout last meeting!  It was great to see everyone's bright and smiling faces in person. We enjoyed some good info and broke some bread as our illustrious president, Dr Palagruto led the meeting.

Frank Snyder and Hannah Rice, representatives from the NC Medical Society spoke regarding what the NC Medical Society is doing for out profession in the state. Hannah Rice went through the key components of the 300 legislative bills that touched on our profession out of the 1600 total bills brought up. Discussion included focus on Medicaid Expansion, Women's Health and addressing Prior Auth issues.  Some pending bills such as workforce issues and violence in workplace as well as protection of patient-physician relationship and prior auth.  Also discussed loan initiative for rural areas.  Lastly, Ms Rice, encouraged folks to look for info on upcoming White Coat Day 6/12/2024.

We were also happy to have our local cardiologist, Dr. William Smith with Novant Heart and Vascular Institute, who spoke about updates to their clinic in developing subspecialty clinics to be more focused and improved access.  There was also some info regarding new developments in diagnostics to include addition of CT angio and FFR.
